It’s Paramedic Services Week in Canada (May 25 – May 31), a week where medics are celebrated for their heroic and often unheralded work in the community. Coming off EMS Week in the United States, the Canadian Paramedics Chiefs are leading the charge to recognize hardworking paramedics all across Canada.
This year, the motto for Paramedic Services Week is “Our Family Caring For Yours.”
What Goes On During Paramedic Services Week?
To put it simply: A lot.
This is a week that celebrates the work of paramedics, and the care they provide to your family, in several ways on and offline.
On May 27th , a national Twitter discussion pertaining to Paramedic Services Week and paramedics in general took place at the hashtag #psweek2014.
And offline, events are taking place where paramedics and those in the community they serve can interact, engage, and share their experiences with one another.
The Toronto EMS Paramedics, for example, will be at the Ontario Science Centre on May 30th to demonstrate how they go about treating patients who have suffered broken bones and head injuries. That event will begin at 11:00 am and conclude at 3:00 pm and is free with your Science Centre admission.
If you’re interested in participating in Paramedic Services Week by sharing your own paramedic-related media, you can read the instructions about uploading video and other files.
